Jason Sivert

Mr. Jason Sivert is a graduate from Appalachian State University, where he received his Masters in Music Performance. He is a composer, arranger, freelance musician, live sound engineer, and private lessons instructor. Since graduating, Sivert has been performing as a guest steelpan artist giving solo recitals, as well as performing his original steel band compositions with a number of universities.

Mr. Sivert has been regularly performing with the Ohio Valley’s only existing professional steel band “Steel Cassa” since 2021. He also participates in community outreach performances and clinics with West Liberty University’s African Drum and Dance ensemble and steel band. In addition to playing and teaching steelpan, he is proficient on all of the core percussion instruments such as: snare drum, timpani, keyboard percussion, drumset, etc. He also plays and teaches West African hand percussion, Latin percussion, and North Indian tabla.
