Anita Snyder Kahle is a native of Western Pennsylvania. In 2019, Anita graduated from Slippery Rock University with degrees in Music Education and Clarinet Performance. While at Slippery Rock, Anita maintained a private studio, ranging from young children to older adults, worked as an accompanist for fellow students, and was an active member of several ensembles. After graduating, Anita moved to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and taught for three and a half years at Foose Elementary of the Harrisburg School District. At Foose, Anita conducted a select choir, directed the musical, and taught students from Kindergarten through 5th grade, including students with exceptionalities, both online and in person. Her students have also been featured as musicians at a Harrisburg Senators baseball game. Additionally, Anita continues to work with the East Pennsboro marching band as a woodwind tech. With a plethora of experience between the public classroom and private teaching, Anita has run the gamut of teaching music. Anita’s teaching philosophy, is a student-centered approach and thinking outside the box when it comes to teaching musical concepts. In the lesson space, Anita’s students can be seen out of the chair, on the floor, playing games, and using modern pedagogy to engage in music. Anita is excited to return back to her passion of teaching privately. When not teaching, Anita can be found hanging out with her husband, Michael Kahle, and her dog, Charlie Brown, and crocheting the day away.
